In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal.
Chicago
first opened on Broadway at the 46th Street Theatre in New York City on June 3, 1975. The production, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse, ran for 936 performances. On Nov 14, 1996, a revival of the show opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. It latered transferred to Shubert Theatre, and then to the Ambassador Theatre, where, for more than two decades it continued to run, logging nearly 10,000 performances.
Adapted in collaboration with iTheatrics, Kander & Ebb's legendary and award-winning musical about fame, fortune and “all that jazz” is specifically designed to be content-appropriate for middle and high school performers and has been adapted to remove overtly sexual references and adult language. “We plan to return to the original 1975 concept of the play,” says show director and CCT Director of Education Paul Lindley, “which highlighted the world of vaudeville, used sets and costumes!”

Our first priority is the safety of our staff, actors and audience as we face the COVID-19 crisis.
To that end, we are only selling 50% of available seats in the theatre. Seating is general admission, and we ask you to leave at least one empty seat between you and other parties.
In light of the
CDC's recommendations on July 27, we requesting that all patrons and volunteers attending a performance wear a mask in the lobby and theatre, regardless of vaccination status. We will have masks available for patrons who did not bring one.
