The Secret Garden Audition

What You Need to Know:

Auditions for the Secret Garden are open to all actors in grades 7 – 12. 
Auditions will take place on Sunday, December 8 at 6:00PM and Monday, December 9 at 6:00PM.
  • Download and Complete the Audition Form and Conflict Calendar (pdf file)
  • Review the Production Information Sheet (pdf file)
  • Be familiar with these song selections in advance:
  • You will be taught a short Choreography routine
  • Possible Cold readings from the script. You only need to attend one audition session unless you are asked to return for a callback audition. Rehearsals begin December 16. Rehearsals will generally be held Monday through Friday evenings, Saturday times vary, and Sunday afternoons. Performances will be February 7-9, 2020.
Please plan to arrive before the start time listed above to register for auditions. If possible, fill out the audition form and conflict calendar in advance (link above). The audition process should take approximately 2 hours.

This enchanting classic of children's literature is reimagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of 'Night Mother. Orphaned in India, 11 year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the "Dreamers", spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden's compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.
